How wide are the wheels, and what is your desired purpose for the car? I have 205/55/16s Kumho 712s on my 16x8s and have used 225/50s on there too. The 205s are nicer for slip for me (stockish KA, LSD, suspension, etc) but the 225s will provide plenty of grip (a little too much for some people's liking...). Which size tires you get is personal preference, and depend on the use of the car and what you have done to it. I'd suggest you just start with some used tires (205/55, 215/50-55, 225/50) and see what looks and feels the best for your driving style!

edit: oh and I almost forgot... Search! There are many threads on this same topic with people arguing drift vs grip and stretch vs no stretch....

ok thanks for the tips!!!!
so i think my wheels are 16x8
so i have a stock ka S14 stock vlsd and TEIN HE full coilovers...
my kind of ride is drifting...sometime grip and touge session....
so i thinks the 225/50/16 are too whide and kill my power...(KA)

A stock KA will definitely have a problem spinning 225/50/16. Go narrower.

wider = better for any sort of sporting.

Whats ur wheel width and offset? Maybe your offset sux ass and thats why its rubbing? Got spacers?

Go low pro, I had 215/45R16 on my reiken mesh wheels. +12 off set, looked dope.

Wow....very wrong indeed. I have no problem spinning my 225/45/17 and all I have is intake and cat-back...

I've had no problems sinning 225/50/16's KA with intake, and exhaust. 130,xxx miles to boot.

Hell, I'm thinking of trying 245/45/16's just cause they're on the wheels I got.

my wheels are 16x8
i dont know about the off set..but i know the off set in front is not the same
of the rear...
so i think i will ride some 215/50/16 on 4corners...
what do you think about that????

I think that's too little rubber. 225s all around. If it look "like a too big rubber" suck it up and realize that those four pieces of rubber, steel, and nylon are the only pieces that steer, accelerate, and brake your vehicle.
