Seriously now, what is the best aftermarket intake out there for the s14? As far as performance and sound, what's the best. Im really looking for one with awesome sound. with some performance ofcorse? I've heard Apex-I is the best? Anyone wanna say anything else?

Alot of people do the injen cold air, and the aem short ram intake. From what I've heard of the two....Injen sounded real damn nice and throaty. I'm doing the injen right now personally....kinda of expense though for an intake.

Ok this is from flow test that I've seen and participated in. Based on the fact that most filter piping is all the same the test I saw were just on filter elements. Also Injen and AEM get their elements from the same supplier.

Ok since they are the same Injen and AEM came last.

Next was KnN

Next was Akimoto

And the winner is HKS

BUT remember better flow means less filtration. On the street I used a KnN filter and for other things ran no filter or HKS.

I just installed my Injen with CAE and it sounds incredible. I would definitely recommend the Injen. I've done a lot of research and have found most people like the Injen. I got mine at www.enjukuracing.com They are in Florida and I'm in Boston and total price with shipping was $300.25

The results are in, Injen it is. Sound is great, performance gain is nice above 4k. I'm going to replace my filter element with something else. The flow isn't that good (from what I've read). I'd say an 8/10!

i have the aem short ram, and it makes a big difference (my car is bone stock). Just by adding the short ram, i felt a huge difference. I only paid 160 for it and it was well worth it.

The Injen or AEM piping is great, however the filter is the next item you should look at. I personally enjoyed the Blitz SUS with the Injen Piping.

Most piping is made at the same factory.

K&N is a great filter, but I'm just lazy to clean mine, so I put the Blitz SUS on. A second choice for filter would be the HKS Mega Flow

I would say that injen is the best i will be getting my cae on monday and IF i were smart i would have got the wholething at once whick would have cost me 250.00 with s/h in stead i paid 271.60 for all of it so if you are llking for a good intak get the injen CAI.

Interesting how people seem to not notice the flow bench testing.....

the best? the jeremy's cutome intake, i really like his intake, you lose some low ends (the 240 has a strong low end anyways) and gain top end!

the theory? get colder air, avoiding the radiator, and getting a shorter ram. air is drawn from a 3" hole that's cut and connected to a 3" vent pipe that's located on the front bumper to get cold air!

since long ram gives torque, and not as good top end, the short fram sacrifises the lower end and gain more top end.
this is just theory...

this is the best shot of it i have,

btw, this is the few pics where i have my JDM chrom hub caps, look @ the automatic 5 lug conv.

"long ram" creates torque? how does it do that? what information are you basing this on?

btw......i've seen filtration tests where the HKS finished last in filtration AND flow properties, so take that for what it's worth.
