I have a couple of deep gashes on the molding of my rear quarter glass for my hatch. I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas on how to repair or clean up the molding so that it wouldn't be noticecable.

Well I was only wondering because I have 180sx rear quarter glass install. One day I was moving some stuff around in my garage and I hit the molding making some noticeable scratches. Since these window are expensive, I wanted to know if there is a way that I can clean it up. If you can fix plastic, maybe you can fix rubber. Also you never know, people come up with some crazy ideas to fix stuff when they are trying to save money. I was even thinking of using black sealent like the same kind that is used on the window.

A hard urethane like used for windshield sealing might work if you run a thin coat over the damaged area, then repaint the entire moulding with trim paint.

Yeah, I have the same problem as you. You can't buy the molding separately because it comes attached to the quarter glass. I was told that I could use some type of black silicon to fill it in and possibly repaint the whole molding with special automotive paint to blend it in. I don't know about bondo, but you could try. I agree with R240NA.
