Got myself a set of s13 ruca. I would like to ask those who have done this s13 ruca install before and would like to share their experience.

What are the things and comman problems that I have to be careful of or can avoid?

And for s13 you have to remove rear coilovers or damper strut, right?

no need to remove anything. just unbolt the OEM one and bolt on the new one. I eyeball the RUCA with my OEM one. It's a 30min job.

To get the ruca off of an s13 you have to remove the strut/coil so you can unbolt the ruca. After you do that, then measure it up to the old one slap your suspension back together and get alignment.

opps.. oh yea, for s13. becaues it's a complete arm that surrounds the strut. I forgot i did it to my s14 and it was half circle.

Thanks for the advices.

I off course searched it and found not enough. Most threads were in the F/S section.

Some people say that I don't have to take the coilover off. As long as I unscrew the bottom but of the coilover I can slide out the old ruca and slide in the new one. Can someone verify this?

Also don't I have to put some grease on the hiem joint of the new ruca?

S14 don't need to take coilover off, s13 does.

have you even LOOKED at your rear suspension setup? The S13 RUCA has a full loop, there's no way to get it out without removing the coilover, or at least unbolting it.

The S14 is a half loop, and therefore can be removed.

IF you are using an s14 RUCA on your s13, THEN you don't need to remove the rear strut.

option zero. I did look at the part and that is why I am asking that question. I thought that with the pillow ball mount on the rear coilovers, it might be possible to slide the ruca in and out with coilover's bottom bolt off.

Kingkong, Thanks so much for your help!

i <3 S14 rucas. I've been running BV S14 style rucas on my car for about 2 years now. So much easier to remove shit.

I going back to s13 style ones on my s14. Just for that added protection.
