Today I started hearing a new sound. When I'm driving every now and then I will hear a scraping sound (squeeking? screeching? I dono) It sounds like a rotational type thing if that makes any sence. I thought it was my suspension squeeking right at first but once it started up again it was definately not caused by up and down motion but just simply the wheels turning. I couldn't do anything to cause it to start or stop...it would just come and go, seemingly on its own.

Any idea what this could be?
A friend suggested wheel bearings...
Any thoughts?

I have the exact smae problem. To me, it sounds like brake squeaking. I actually have two problems. I have brake squeaking when the brakes are applied. I also get a very similar sound without brakes.
I am gonna get new pads, some brembro rotors, and maybe check the bearing when I can get an FSM
Good luck. Let me know if you figure it out.

brake pads are designed to make a squeeking sound when the get too low.. that could be what your hearing.

either that or Hub bearings?

bearings would not cause a squeaking noise at all it would be a growling low pitch noise.

you said you put sway bars in dsc why dont u check ur stabilizer links? see if they are rubbing causeing the squeaking noise. if your unsure take them off apply some anti seize or heavy grease (something that wont come off easily i.e. wheel bearing red grease or silicone grease)

hope that helps

*edit*

oops reread u said its not a susp noise its when turning the wheel. jack your car up (not by the tension rods! ) and have someone turn the wheel see if it does it under no load.... then see if it will do it with the car stationary on the floor while someone turns the wheels.

The same thing happened to me last year at the Houston show, so I didnt enter my car....I'm very picky bout any little thing w/ my car. Well, need less to say I changed my brakes even though they didnt need it, bled the calipers..all the regular maint. Eventually it stopped.

Also, had the problem w/ the plastic in the wheel well came loose and got shredded by the tire on the same trip to Houston, nope that's not the noise.....One's a rub, the others a screeching thing.
