should i run hks step 1 264 intake and exhaust if im running a hks gt2530 on s13 redtop? i saw a dyno with t28 and hks cams, made no difference so i was wonderin if this turbo with cams would make a difference.

dont know how big the 2530 is but if it holds boost til redline easily im sure you could pick up some power with cams. when i asked around, a few people seemed to say the jwt s4's were the best street cams, apparently they have a really good area under the lift curve compared to others of the same caliber.

here is some good info about cams and such for ya.

the 2530 is as big as a t28 with upgraded wheels

i couldnt find any more info on any actual gains you might get with some cams on that turbo, but if it were me, i would get some anyways, im sure you will seem some gain in top end power where it really matters. good luck with the install as well, im sure if you just follow the fsm, it will be a piece of cake, just make sure you have the right tools before hand of course.

Yes, there will be a gain, probably around 30-40 Hp WITH the turbo swap. When I was running an S15 turbo previously, HKS 264 Step 1 in/ex cams helped the car make a noticeable difference. It reall woke up with a bigger turbo though. I think I only made around 285 rwhp with those cams, the S15 turbo, 550's, and Z32 maf with tuning...Not anymore though!

I was running 1.2 boost...pretty much the limit for an S15 turbo, due to the wheels...If you're looking to keep upgrading your car, go for it. You'll need them eventually. In hindsight however, I wish that I had gone for Tomei cams, but there's nothing wrong with HKS. I don't recommend doing the cams by yourself if you've never done them before though...kinda tough to do correctly. Good luck!

If the turbo has more potential than an s15 t28, I'm sure it would help. On the other hand, if it's like an s15 t28, the turbo doesn't pull all the way to redline and adding cams isn't going to help much.
