license plate lamps

I have a problem with my plate lights in the rear. they were originally cut when the nismo bumpeer was put on and I recently got the wiring an dthe lights from a parts car. I hooked it up black to black wire blue/red to blue/red and it lit up. the next day I undid it to make the connection nice and neat and clean it all up with electrical tape and now I can't get power to the wires? I checked the fuses in the kick panel and nothing? I don't understand why it had power and now does not? :rant2: driving me mad???

Check the ground and/or try a different spot. Try replacing the fuse even if it doesn't look burnt out; it's worked for me before. Check the bulbs. I know these seem kinda obvious, I'm just throwing out ideas.

I'm putting my money on the fuses. When I was rewiring my license plate lights in my old corolla, the fuses blew for apparently no reason (I'm guessing I shorted them with one another for a brief moment).
