a friend of mine got his hands on a short block from a offroad truck, was dry sump, and based off the actual truck engine, JE pistons, we are tearing down to check rod length

There probably the same 171mm Rods they use in the GT3 KA's.

whats up guys?anyone with a n/a build/setups?


whats up D havnt talk to u in a min. i still got my na "build" that im working on. 93 coup lots of bolt ons, did the body work so that took money away from the motor plus my sr is a money pit but all i need is my cams, nistune, and drive shaft and ill be on the dyno. i think i can hit 200 crank after that. ill post the dyno chart after its all done. did u end up selling your car?

im workin on body work now on my car..u ever try r.s.ethanpy he's nice wit rom tuning but i kno your gonna tune ya own car..what kinda of drie shaft r u running??i got a alum i ben running for a couple years already.no i still got my car no one picked it up yet..couple of people came n looked at it but they flaked..

plannig on swappin out the crank next year for a fully countered one n maybe over bore it more to .50 but we'll see..i got to get some bigger cams n bolt ons..let me kno if u run across any spare ka motors n stock cams

im not tuning shit lol, that will be done down at DMS performance. i dont like send away tunes, just not my thing. i have the stock drive shaft in there now i want to get a drive shaft shop alum one. i keep my eye open for a motor if u still need some stock cams u can have mine in a few months. i got a oil pressure light on yesterday, so i hope its just the sending unit or some thing dumb i havent got around to looking at it yet.

u wont, not with out a fully built motor, it has been done just not cheap im going to spray mine that will make over 200 wheel

the dates scribed on stuff leads me to believe it was built in 2006, all we got was the short block, its all plugged off for dry sump, but the guy who had this kept all that stuff. he told my friend that got the engine that the cams siezed up because it had a oiling issue, which the main bearing were ok but the rod bearing were destroyed in this thing. thie psitons are soooo much lighter than stock, and the rods seem to be also. the guy also told him the red line was at 9k, and their newer engine had belt drive timing set ups.

truck crank, its been rebalanced, kind of polished, and it has allen plugs in ever journal, so it had some oil passage work done. but its not full balanced, looks like a car crank, but the flywheel mount is thicker. ill take a couple pics tonight

the closer brown crank is a s13, the silver shiney one is the race truck crank

mine will be up very soon just needs to be broke in, had to bail on my idea of doing all bolt ons cuz the oil pump went, so i rebuilt it with shoc pistons dyno in a few weeks after my nistune gets here and it is broke in.

i need help i just baught a s14 and one injector is bad i would like to know if i can replace it with another injector maybe from a maxima or altima??? or sentra or something i can find in the junkyard.......just for a quick fix...any sugestions?

aslong as the injector is red its a 270cc which is the same as the s14 ka injectors.
ka altimas are the same. ;)

stock for now little bit down the road im going to be useing pdm racings n/a cams but they are 700$ so its going to have to wait.

they got dyno charts on the web site they look ok nothing to crazy but what do u expect for a na ka

But the dyno #'s was on a bone stock ka...now run those on somethim wit high comp,better intake mani design and some bolt on's , ecu tune
n u might b very surprised.the stock ka cant take advantage of those kind of bumpsticks

those #s had bolt ons and tuning :-/. got the motor built 12.5.1 comp :rawk: (the good) cant run pump gas (the bad) its my dd so this is a problem as e85 is geting popular around here but not enought every where else to get by as a dd so ........

the #s are still like 10 wheel hp so its not a bad gain but its the curve that im interested in, by the way what did u think of that intake man u had?

Looking to do a rebuild on my hatchback soon and will be looking for opinions/expericence with N/A power in mind.
Will over build the bottom end incase i want to turbo this one down the road aswell.
So far i have..
Good running 93 motor with new lightweight flywheel and act clutch combo.
Hot shot header
272 delta cams
spare 93 head
spare ecu
lightweight crank pulley
custom intake piping parts

Looking to make this motor as responsive and efficient as possible.

im looking into building up mine NA (hopefully to 200 bhp) is it worth it to build it NA and DD it? or (since its my dd) should i just give in like many others and get a turbo? (i like the idea of NA much better)

all depends on what u wana do with it. if its just a car that u can enjoy and tool around in then go for it i like building n/a cars cuz u can do one bolt on at a time, not like turbo where u need a lot of things done at once. but to get 200 hp it needs a lot of work the ka sucks at na

can anyone confirm that this o2 sensor is for a KA24 or an SR20.

i'm looking for a pre cat #1 o2 sensor (on the manifold). seller might have mistaked it for the 2nd o2 sensor, but insists its off a ka24.

the shop i took it too said it doesn't fit on my ka24 pre cat o2 bung and that the sensor i received was for an sr20.

I can confirm that my rear 02 sensor from my '95 KA looks EXACTLY like the one pictured.

I think something is off, or it's really tired. This is from after a tune. Granted it did 149 on a mustang a few weeks later with no other changes.

Ebay 4-2-1 header
BC-264's
DIY 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust
Intake
Custom intake manifold
SR 370cc injectors
Bikirom tune
Some sort of irridium spark plug
PS removed
TB coolant thing eliminated

Oil analysis came back fine, compression was/is fine... the last time I checked it. Think maybe my BC264's arent doing what I want them to, or that the intake manifold isn't working out like I'd have liked.

Not really sure where to post and dont want to get yelled at for being a idiot and not searching, but here goes!

So im looking into buying a blown ka (spun rod bearing, head gasket etc) and rebuilding it for myself one day. i have a few questions i have tried to find the answers to but cannot.

1. I know the short way to write it , EVG or what ever. But what are all the componets needed to pass CA smog. i want to rebuild a reliable and smog legal engine, in my area i've seen a few smog checkpoints and i just dont want to deal with the hassle of RB/SR/Built KA. (not really one for power) dual cam.
2. Would after market Rods and pistons effect SMOG? i would like it just to be strong and built to maybe one day handle power, but this is for the long run.
3.i was reading somewhere that people do a cam swap, 248/232. are those after market cams, or stock cams? cant really find anything on those either.

i probably have a lot more questions, but none i can think of right now. if anyone has any info i would really appreciate it. or links you can call me a noob i dont really mind, i am anyways. thank you!

Different rods and pistons will not effect smog unless you change compression ratio, but even then you can still pass.

You will need to retain all the other shit though as CA does visual inspections iirc; so evap canister and solenoids need to be functioning, EGR, idle air, cat, no other CEL's, etc.

scope240sx ,well my project has ben on hold for a couple years as you can see lol,my bad.i sold my last 14 last year n the one before that got destroyed thanks to a happy driver takin up 2 lanes..i been gettin parts together slowly.i knife edge my crank n rebalanced it for 9 rpm not saying im goin to rev it that high,other than that im in the middle of moving so idk whats goin to happen.i'll keep you guys updated when im back
