Hmm....where was everyone? Only Drifting Ricer, AceInHole, Jeff (not sure what his forum names are) and me! It was a good event though. The course seemed to be just the wrong speed (too fast for 1st too slow for second) and a little confusing at first, but once you learned the track it was actually pretty good.

We all got at least decent times. I ended up running in STS with my STOCK SOHC S13 and only managed to pull a 56 second lap. Not too bad but not competative at with the faster people in STS. Ace got 2nd in STS with a 49 second run, Drifting Ricer also ran in STS but I'm not sure what his best time was. I think I heard a 52 but they didn't post the time sheet his run was on. Jeff ran in SM and placed (forget what place he got but he did leave with a mug) with a best run of 47 seconds.

I placed second in novice non-stock, which includes all modified, prepared, etc, novices, not just STS
Jeff placed 2nd in a fairly small field of Street Modified cars.... first place was a really old VW GTI that had race tires I think... if Jeff had better tires he might have done better ... (although we can all say the same thing).
SR20VET did pretty well, at least managing 2 runs without an off course, the first one being a run with the aide of an instructor.
If you're new and looking to decrease your times, definitely use the instructors. SR20VET is one example of it... and I have a small example too: My runs were 54, 52, 51.1 + 1 cone, 51.1 with an instructor, and 49.5. Always talk to the guys that have been there the longest, the worst case scenario is you get some advice and find out something that doesn't work for you.... best case being you cut like 10 seconds off your lap time, or finish the course without missing a gate *cough cough curb humper cough*
It also helps to set goals. The last run, SR20VET was saying he wanted to lower his 59 second time to a 56, and he did exactly that. I had an R/T neon hot on my tail, so I was saying I wanted to break the 50 second barrier, which I accomplished. Someone else was even able to finish the course without missing a gate after 4 off course runs

So.... anyways.... solo II rules (well, except for maybe solo I)

umm...that was only you PJ. Unless you count that one pic with Jose in the background, or that other pic with my bumper making an appearance.

Do you know if Jose or Jeff have any pics, or videos up? Those pics you posted look like they're from Jeffs camera.

Ha Ha! Cool I've never seen a pic of me driving my car before. It's kinda weird to see yourself from outside your car. Now we just need Jose to upload some of the video footage. I'll put my PS pump back on before the next auto-x so I can run in one of the stock classes. Think they'd still bump me to STS if I had just an exhaust?

nah, in stock you can mod the exhaust from the cat-back because it's a wear item. the intake however you cannot modify. you also need a full interior, bla bla bla.....

it's gonna be weird not running in the same heat though...

but anyways, you going to Ayer this weekend?

I don't think so. I'm short on cash as always, and I don't want to risk driving all the way down there. I'll be there in July though. Is the one this sun. a points scoring event? Or is it just for fun?

this sunday will be an NESCC event (www.nescc.org) so it won't count towards the NER season.
