pretty self-explanatory... does anybody know where to get the red shock piece that goes btween the engine and the driver's side shock tower?  thanks guys.

it's a HPI Maxeng Damper, found it in my HyperRev mag. It's like a shock for your engine, because your engine torques toward that side the damper slows that so your engine puts the force down the driveshaft instead of twisting your engine. Kinda like still motor mounts. Well, they make the damers for the sr20det, rb26dett, 13B-REW and B6...... so if you have an sr20det then you're in luck, According to their site they cost about $140 in Japan so +shipping... not too cheep...... there are some other manifactures of similar products, i'll see what i can find and get back to you.

I found similar products from Winning Run and Stillway, couldn't find info on Safura... didn't have prices listed for stillway, Winning Run is about the same price.

Let me know if you (anyone) wants to get one, i'll get an order setup, probably from HPI.

Just make one yourself. &nbsp;I've made some in before just using a solid bar but I've found out that that can actually damage your body, so I took a shock from a small moped ad used it and it worked pretty good. &nbsp;Some other people I know uses the bar that holds the rear hatch open on a hatchback, but I don't know how good that goes. &nbsp;You can tell a difference with it on and off. &nbsp;Also, it helps with shifting.

why would a solid bar damage the body?? &nbsp;I would think it would work better than a shock style bar, since it would transmit all the torque to the body of the car. &nbsp;

talkin about MacGuyver, they need to make a new series out of it, or even bring the old one back! &nbsp;Richard Anderson's new shit just isn't cutting it for me...

I wonder how many of you think. If you use the solid bar the jolt from the rocking of the engine would put stress on the inner wheel well and the engine block, but as we know thats pretty solid so some part of the whole configuration has to 'give' and that would do some pretty bad damage on the trans. Were as the concept of having a shock/ damper would release a fare amount of stress that would be exherted(sp?) from the torque of the engine, causing less damage to all the parts listed earlier.

I wonder how hard it would be to adapt that one to work on a KA. Seems like it would be helpful for high HP KA's.

Seems like it would more helpful on lower HP cars because they could really use the decrease in drivline loss.

If anyone gets any info on one of these for the KA or CA, please let me know.

aaaa...dude...i'd take that off if i was u...the engine vibrabes if u dun notice that why motor mounts r made of rubber or poyunithan...so it can kinda move.....if u try 2 hold it still it ill transer the energy 2 that bar..and sonner or later the bar will tear thru the side of ur car...that isnt a 2 bright idea.....u dun want to hod still a vibrating object...it will slowing wear down the chasis and then tear it! &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':crazy:'> ....take that off quick!

Hhmm, from my engineering experience, I have two suggestions.

Route A: Use a reasonably stiff (not overly stiff) shock, and if you are being very specific and want to go a bit further, spec out a shock that has an exponential spring rate. &nbsp;Contact some mechanical/engineering suppliers - not too too expensive. &nbsp;mount that with direct hardware of course.

Route B: Use hard rubber or polyurethane mount inserts if you can construct OR find some that would fit well. &nbsp;Use a steel or titanium alloy bar and weld it to the outer mount with the polyurethane or hard rubber mount inserts on the interior. &nbsp;Use steel or titanium, pref titanium, because it flexes a little, atleast far more than say, aluminum.

Route C: Do both, no doubt it will be better, but would it be worth it or overdoing it.

Ti would also bend before cracking or going a-wall, and steel is almost as forgiving, but Al is NOT forgiving.
