Start off by telling you what I got..have a 1992 KA with Injen intake NOT cold air, hotshot headers, stock new cat, and HKS Hi-Per catback......anyway, when I accelerate soft or hard, all I hear is my intake untill I hit 3rd gear, then I finally hear my exhaust over my intake....this just started like 2-3 weeks ago, what is up with it?

I think its normal just the way your interpreting it probably.

yep, intake is louder than the exhaust. Only one person has correctly noted that it was the intake not the exhaust and it's a girl... So many people are like your exhaust is loud...

Ok, to further state about it...its very loud..not as loud as it should be...it almost sounds as if I'm driving 150 mph with all my windows down in the middle of a tornado...and I had this setup for over a year, so I know what it started off as, and I know what it progressed into, and this doesn't sound normal...like I listen to my radio very loud, and in 1st and 2nd gear I can hear it over top of the radio

clean or replace your filter.

wouldn't a dirty or clogged filter reduce the airflow thus making it quieter than it should be?

if its old and its broken away it could get louder...and if its clogged and is sucking through a smaller part it will be louder...

might be a hole somewhere, a leak an openining. make sure everything clamped tight and clean the filter

ok, new update. This just started yesterday, dont know if this is from this or something totally different...but now when I accelerate hard, I get the same loud wind sound up untill 4500 rpm, then the air completely goes quiet and I get a loud "blow off" sound, that lasts for maybe 1/2 of a second, then the wind noise comes again...wtf is this?

yeah, I got a NEW filter, fixed the broken fan shroud and checked all my vacuum lines, they're all good. Problem still exists. In another similar thread to this, someone suggested that the clutch fan assembly might be bad. How big of an electric fan do I need to support my engine? It's KA non turbo, basic upgrades
