The first spark plug in the cylinder has a black carbon build-up and when i took it out, it was wet and i'm pretty sure it was fuel...smelt like it too.
question 1: why is there carbon build up on this one when the rest are fine?
question 2: could it be related to bad wire?
question 3: is my 1st cylinder not working or will it still continue to work, just not as good cuz of the carbon?
question 4: how can i fix the problem?

I ordered new NGK plugs and wires, but I'm not fixin the problem, just giving the problem a new plug to mess up... so i wanna fix this before installin new ones.

This (http://www.pdm-racing.com/features/plugs.html) may help. But you probably already know whats in there. Just from seeing that, I would assume it could be a bad wire...causing a weaker spark and not burning the fuel as well.

ok i checked the wires and the first wire (where the bad plug is) is the only one producing a nice crisp clicking sound (which it's supposed to right?) and the rest are kinda messed up.

any other ideas why there would be a carbon build up? on the pdm-racing it says that it's because of overly rich fuel mixture... how can this problem be fixed?

i would think all would be built up if too rich
from what i can think of it can be a couple of things
wire
plug not gaped
leaking injector
o2 sensor (not likely)

ok i checked the gap and it was good. I had leaking injectors but i replaced em with new ones a month ago. So the build up is prolly from the old injectors? But why would the spark plug still be wet? i guess it's most probably the wire.... still waitin on the NGKs to arrive in mail... thanks

OK, we all know the resource at pdm for checking spark plugs. Great if you're looking at your plugs trying to figure out what's wrong, but not so good at determining why its wrong, or what temp range to be in for you next set or up coming race (or what temp range means in the first place).

Check this out and answer your questions. This pretty much answered all I was looking for.

What is it wet from? Is it oil fouled? Fuel fouled? Coolant? Find out what the fluid on it is before you go any farther.

Oil: You prolly have bad rings, spendy rebuild in your future.

Fuel: Spark plug not sparking, bad plug, bad wires. Use an ohms meter to test the wire.

Coolant: God damn, you're in trouble

I was running rich in my 92 coupe and changed the O2 sensor. Cleared it right up. Dunno if that's your problem, just thought that I would throw that out there.
