you should be able to do it a lot cheaper than that. check this out:

GOOD STUFF.

Also I've had both the Auto, and 5-speed. The 5-speed is a LOT more fun to drive, and it gives you much more control of the car. Definately a nice feature. Instead of just replacing my auto with a 5-speed. I just sold the Auto 240, and bought the Manual one. much simpler.

Well, it will bring the value of your car down, but that doesn't matter. What matters is if it's worth it for you. That price is a little much for the swap, you should be able to get parts for much much cheaper, and install really shouldn't be too much if you aren't doing it yourself.

The easy way and probably even the cheaper way (you could do like a direct trade) is what sykikchimp, said. Sell it and buy one w/ manual.

Ok would it just be easyer to just buy the manual engine and tranny and get the manual driveshaft and put it in and wire the ecu and the put the lines in cus i am thinking of swaping to a five speed.I have a 97 so there is no way i am going to sell my car.

beissen theres alot more to it than just buying the manual engine and tranny, you need to get all the mechanical parts and you don't need to replace the engine, i kno u just probably didnt feel like typing everything out and put the part that u were concerned with lol so sorry im not tryin to bust ur balls

if you are going to auto-x...i would say yes...never tried it in a manual, but i would assume you have better control of your under/oversteer or pretty much better control of you car in general...but that's just talking out of my ass...

Its kinda funny how things are completely opposite between the States and Japan. Here five speeds are cheaper, in Japan five speeds are more expensive. You drive on the right side of the road in the States and the left side in Japan. the driver's side is on the left in the States and the right in Japan. Just wanted to bring that up....
