I'm helping my brother replace his ebrake cable since its not holding the car in our driveway.

I know there the two rear cables that need to be replaced but is it necessary to replace the cable that attached to the ebrake handle inside the car?

Depends if the ebrake line to the bracket was/is damaged. If its torn, or broken, obviously, yea.

The ebrake mechanism consists of 3 lines, 2 from the bracket to the rear calipers, and one from the bracket to the lever.

Here is my cool picture i drew for someone else.

I finally get to use that picture again. don't clown on the drawing!

oh, and when you disconnect the lines from the bracket, remember that it only goes in one way, so you'll have to tinker with it for a bit.
