Car in the paint shop!

Yo! Finally after a million years, the cars in the shop. Sanded down the car and filled like 4 dings. The cars very straight.
Gonna go with dark red or dar candy red. Heres some pics of my car.

Dont have any pics of the dark candy red but Im gonna see what the shop can do. Candy is only in mind because the price is gonna be the same no matter what. Any color, flakes, pearl, whatever, same price.

Might add some flakes. Thinking of silver/red/rainbow color flakes in it. Black top/roof possibly too?

Post up any ideas, suggestions, thoughts.
Going back to the shop most likely next tuesday or possibly sunday after work if hes still open.

ORIGINALLY...i wanted Brickyard from the 350z but with more red. Then it was purple again...then reddish...the purple then any kinda purple then dark red and so on and so on. ahha i got sooo confused. red and purple branch off of each other since brickyard is purply redddd....haha then it just kept getting lighter and lighter. sorta maroonish but i hate marroon. I dont know its confusing.

Never though id paint it red. At least not bright red. and im not. Id do purple but there isnt a purple that I like from any stock cars plus there isnt many purple cars out there.


blah so one of these two are the final decision.

Its a VS: Version 1 (Vertex) sides and rear.

Naw not gonna paint the carbon fiber. Its cheaper and i might get another hood and no one would want my color hood if i were to sell it.

The best mistake I ever made was getting my newly painted car resprayed the next year to fix some scratches and the guy that painted it sprayed it a much lighter color red that didnt differ from the stock Aztec red too much, called corvette torch red. Grant it, it was a domestic color but it really looked good.

Ill try and get a test panel of the color on sunday when i go back to mix some colors to get the "right" one.

that is the paint scheme I'm hoping for. This winter, during downtime, I'll have the S13 front installed and have the whole car painted at the same time. "Titanium" body with a gloss black roof. I think it'll look hot.

Alright got back from the body shop today and this is similar to what it will look like. Cant tell too much from pics cause it was hard to capture the true color but you get the idea. A tad less orange and more red pearl in it and clear coat!

ummmm, geez i thought i told everyone about metallics in a thread already? but in that case no it doesnt have metallics just because it has little sparkles in the paint its not metallics.... its just shedding left from the mixing can that bonds with the paint when its stirred.....

I actually wanted since Im still gonna track it and I daily drive it...
didnt really care for a super good job but they do awesome work.

I got it done for $2500. Hell no I wouldnt pay 5k!! Im a poor ass college student!!!
I got a deal on it though.
That included door jams, trunk jams, underneath the trunk lid, fill
my trunk holes, minor minor body work, 4 coats of color and clear
I believe (i know its 4 coats of clear), take off the fenders to paint,
put the kit on and they did some trimming, color-sand and buff.
Any color I wanted, candy, pearl, metallic, custom, airbrush graphics, whatever.

It was painted by the same place BJ (blue95240sx) got it painted at.
Him and his 20yr old son do all the work and paint it.
They do mechanical work as well and basically anything else...

Looks like they did an excellent job on the paint! But the color reminds me of the factory burgundy :(

When you see it in person, its nothing like a factory color. Looks so sweet!

Dont get me mixed up with the painters!!! They way he said it makes it look like im part of the shop. IM NOT!

They do really good work an the paint comes out really clean. For what we paid we go awsome jobs. From some of the pics Daniel's and my car have tons of swirl marks. Im just waiting a bit longer before i polish it, just waiting for the paint to cure.

Also dont tell them daniel sent you, tell them BJ sent you LOL! Better yet tell them we both sent you.

They also do price adjustments, say if you have the car sanded and primed, or you take off the seals, or you dont want this to get painted or whatever. They will knock the price down a bit if you do some of the work yourself to make it easier on them. They will also accept things, say if you work at a electronics place they will take a TV or something, but keep in mind it has to be worth it to them. They dont want some left over s13 or s14 parts!

They work faily quick. Their shop is a decent size. Its split into two though. One side has a lift and the other has the paint booth.
