Hey guys, recently, I tried to put on my friend's Z32 wheels on my S14, but unfortunately, the front won't clear. I have coilovers, and they rub on them. even with a spacer, it just won't clear. So, to put them on, I'm thinking that I have to get new and longer studs, with a spacer. I'm not sure.. but if anyone has run with this setup, please let me know what they did to get them to fit.

ive always had Z32 wheels on my S14. they clear my Tokico struts though with a 225/45/16 tire in the front without a spacer. now for looks, I do recommend pushing it out another 10mm or so but that will require longer studs.

how much of a spacer did you try?

I don't know, I thought that it would clear, because it seems that the coilovers are so much smaller than struts are. The tires that are currently on there are 225/50/16's.. Right now, I'm using a 5mm spacer, but when I looked at it, there wouldn't be enough thread left to hold the wheel on there if I were to put more spacers on there.

i had to run a 20mm spacer in the front for the z32 wheels to clear coilovers

Z32 TT wheels are 16X7.5, +45 (F), 16X8.5, +35 (R)...see why they don't clear?

For a 7.5" wheel (with a 225 tire) to clear most coilovers, you'll need a +25 (maybe +30) offset.

So like "Drunk Bastard" said...you'll need close to a 20mm spacer.

I'm using the N/A wheels.. are they any different? I thought that they were 8" all around? Anyhow, with the 20mm spacer, was there enough thread left to hold wheel on? I have z32 brakes/rotors too if that helps.

On n1 PRO, you could probably get away with a +35 offset on a 7.5" with a 225 on there. Right now I use 30mm spacers on my z32's. Go as wide as you can without looking chunti.

to be more clear, there wont be enough thread with a 8mm spacer on stock studs. you either have two choices

1. ext studs + spacer
2. adapter

2 is my choice.

when i bought my coilovers, i didn't realize that i needed spacers until i installed my fronts.....and they were rubbing. so i called about 20 different shops looking for good 20mm spacers like h&r or something...and was referred to "Kics" a Japanese brand, and so far they have held up great. here is a link to their site showing what kind of spacer i have. you bolt them up to your stock lugs, and there are new studs to put your wheels on. pretty good idea, imo.

N/A wheels are the same as the TT fronts...so 16X7.5, +45 for ALL 4.

...

And I wouldn't use ANY spacer on stock studs, not even 5mm.

Spacers require longer studs...in your case, you'll need 20mm spacers or bigger, which will be bolt-on.

Check out Mustang wheel spacers on eBay...they are usually 1" / 25mm thick, and you can get 4 for less than $200...5X4.5 bolt pattern.

They are not hubcentric...so some H&R spacers will be better (hub- and wheel-centric), but will cost more.

Thanks.. so I'm guessing the only way to go safely is get longer studs? If I do, are these studs hard to install? Anyone ever do them before?

I run rear TT wheels all around with kics 20mm spacer adapter. I have them tucking just a little with plenty of clearance. Your setup is going to be sunken battleship. I recommend rear TT wheels all around and 25mm adapter all around.

did you read my post?

kics are ADAPTERS spacers. you do not need ext studs for adapter spacres.

spacersl ike what orion said iare spacers you need ext studs.

you also need to make your sig smaller, telling you now or a mod will tell you later

Yes, I did read it, and I guess I'm not too big in the whole 'knowing what adapters are etc etc'.

adapters have studs on them pressed in. they do not, and actually its better not to, require longer studs (rubbing issues for smaller adapters, lower than 20 mil). regular spacers are just going on ur stock/extended studs that are pressed into ur hubs. its as simple as that. adapter type is BETTER and SAFER in my humble........er opinion
