SORRY ABOUT THE DOUBLE POSTAGE... DON'T KNOW WHY IT DID THAT...ANYWHO...

My friend bought one of these:

http://www.gforce.com/products/restraints/torsoharness.html

online for about $15.

Since I'm an avid rockclimber, and I frequent REI (climbing/biking/camping, etc..) I knew they had nylon strapping by the foot.

So me and said friend went there and got some great quality 2" strap for $.60/foot (got 6 feet).

Now since the store carries all sorts of camping/backpacking gear, they have replacement clips and snaps for backpacks. So I picked up a two inch quick conect for $1.75.

Voila same thing for under $6 (I got mine for under $3 since I had credit)... booya... You simply wrap it around your seat and chest and it holds you in place impressively well. Costs less than a harness, nothing to bolt in, great for autoxing or spirited driving.

Furthermore, I had seen all the redline products for shiftboots, so I decided to make my own since my mom is an upholsterer and can get leather easily. So I cut out the patterns and had her sew them together. Beautiful...

I also repainted my trim inside. I used chalkboard paint, since I had it and I noticed that it sprayed much thinner than regular paint. No bubbles, looks great.

On to the pictures... Don't mind the doggy... she jumped in when I opened the door to take pictures.

yeah Lola (her name) is not a teacup pom but everyone thinks she is. She's around 7 months now, which is almost full grown and she's about 5 pounds... she's a tiny little pup...

I believe she cost about $600... she was a xmas present from g/f's parents...

btw... I used real leather... my glove box, shift boot, ebrake boot, and armrest have all been recovered/redone in real leather... yum

I'm tempted to redo mine but I like cloth and dont know which to use. Should ask that mother of yours for some super durable cloth interior stuffers. Only thing I want leather for is my boot/e brake. I want that suede steering wheel!

looks nice, cool pup too, my buddy and his g/f have a pom and its about 3 months or so old, right about to lose the baby coat and get real ugly for a bit till it grows its adult coat, I'd guess he's about 4-5 lbs right now...

btw, what is that electronic thing below the radio??

Ian
05-28-2005, 07:24 AM
sirius or xm radio receiver...i'm pretty sure it's sirius

Thieu
05-28-2005, 09:08 AM
nope... it's XM... a Roady 2... I must say that thing is just awesome on road trips...

I don't know about cloth, but I still have a couple of yards of leather if anyone is interested. Sell it to ya cheap ;)

Our puppy still has her baby teeth and her adult teeth have started to grow out. Some poms do that. So she has double the teeth, it's pretty funny. She's pretty raggedy right now, she really needs a haircut. Maybe I'll pull out the clippers...
