Cusco Tension Rod question (whats the xtra bracket for?)

is that extra bracket for mounting brake cooling deflectors? if not what IS it for?

kinda odd that cusco is the only one i can find that has that tab on their tension rods

hah, now that i have some such tension rods, i wouldnt really call that so much of a "duct"....more along the lines of mini-deflector.
