ok i know that to tell if the car has open diff you jack the rear end up and spin one wheel and if the other one spins the opposite direction its open diff. but if the other one doesnt spin does that mean it has vlsd? also the car doesnt have a drive shaft installed and was wondering if that would affect it?
and the car is an s13.

um if the other one doesnt spin at all then i would crack open the diff cause you might be missing one. a lsd or vlsd if you spin one wheel the other will spin the SAME way.

No drive shaft wont affect the diff but might affect your ability to use it.

alright thanks im not too worried about it cause its on a car that is going to the junkyard and i didnt know what to do to see if it was lsd or not.

there isnt a motor or transmission in the car but if there is no driveshaft how would that affect the car if it were in gear?

if you have someone hold one wheel, and try to spin the other, it should force the wheel (that the person is holding) to spin in same direction..
