SR oil pressure sender

My SR has been leaking oil lately from the oil pressure sender (well, I'm 99% sure that's where it's coming from). Does anyone know what USDM car I can order a new sender from to replace it?

I'm guessing that the FWD SR sender would be the same part, or possibly even one of the KA engines, but I want to confirm. Did a bunch of searching here and didn't find the answer.

hmmm no clue ritt. did you try fresh alloy?

Yes, I searched there heavily and didn't find an answer. Usually with any combination of "oil, pressure, sender" as your search terms you get a LOT of stuff about aftermarket gauges, some unrelated stuff, and not much else :(

pull the sender and put teflon tape on the threads.

If it is leaking from between the oil filter bracket to the block, then you will need a new o ring off of a 93 b13 sentra ser with the sr20de motor.

When that o ring goes out oil usually drips and appears to be leaking from the sender

You just mean plumbing-type teflon tape? I'm surprised the heat doesn't kill that stuff. How many wraps, and should I leave any amount of the threading unwrapped?

my Ka24E oil pressure sender bolt perfectly on my ca18det .. these part are usally the same on a lot of engine.

teflon tape is pretty tuff. wrap it so when it screws in it will make the tape tighter and not come unwrapped. do 4-5 tight wraps.

ca-sr-rb-ka-vg senders are the same.

Thanks for your help, I'll pull it and re-seal it before I try anything else. Does it take a special wrench or anything? Also, do I need to drain the oil first? I'm guessing not, since it's so high on the block, but let me know.

I would just take this time to change the oil anyways, if your under 3k miles or so just reuse your filter. Some oil will drop out.
When you pull the sender, brake clean it then dry it to get all the oil and crap off, then wrap it.

Be really carefull not to tighten it to much, jjust make it snug then 1/4 turn or so. Those oil filter to block adapters are cast aluminum and break really easy.

I think its a 14 mm open end wrench.

No you dont need to drain oil for changing it .. maybe some oil will come out .. have a rag with you.
