got $600 and need to beat an EJ20 SWAP

I got a bet going with a guy at my shop that has a 99 subaru 2.5 RS with an EJ20 Swap that on opening day ill beat him. The bet is $100 for the first run. Since resently i creashed my 240sx with an SR, i am doing the swap and need advice for the toy to beat that clown. I have an SR20det with LSD, HKS BOV, GREDDY FMIC, lightened flywheel, ACT 6 puck and pressure plate, and a GREDDY electronic boost controller with 14lbs. I have 600 $ to play with from my accident and was wondering if you guys know any toys to beat him. At stock boost, no FMIC, and no LSD i ran a 14.0 so now with 14lbs i am planing to run a low 13, but the subaru eats up STI's and EVO's even with a shitty driver that can't lounch for shit. Help, only 2 weeks left!!!!!!

sell greddy boost controlelr get an hks actuator, its more reliable and get something really cheap

with all that money buy a gt28rs turbo and a FPR at 55psi, on only 12psi UNTUNED on stock mafs and injectors u should have 275hp and equal torque,

and boosts fast as crap, NO turbo lag, very very fast and efficient

What all is done to the Subie besides the swap? WRX's in stock form are not fast in the least so whats the deal with this car? You will get raped off of the line but from a rolll, they are slow as shit.

The Subaru has a lightened flywheel, turboback, HKS RS intake, HKS VPC, and a JDM EJ20. I drove it, and it seems like it pulls a lot harder than my SR when i had it at stock boost.

I dunno whats different about the JDM EJ20 vs the US version but my friends 2002 WRX with headers (whatever the hell you call them on that car), up pipe, downpipe with cat delete, and full catback exhaust still feels slow. The car comes on decently strong when it makes boost and then just sorta dies once you start revving it out.

Oh and also, the EJ boosts about twice what the SR does in stock form...

weight reduction + racing fuel + silk tires or get a good FPR + SAFC + good tunning so you wont kill your motor on the track. good luck on your race...keep us updated

EJ207 is the japanese version of what we get here. We have EJ205's in our USDM WRX's. the EJ207 not only makes 280hp, but has forged internals and is a much much beefier engine and tranny set up. The EJ205, while being a good motor is a joke compared to the EJ207. The tranny is significantly stronger, a common weak point the the WRX's platform, but only really a concern when drag racing.
