Ok, finally got around to installing them last night, and was planning to take to an alignment shop today. the only thing i just realized is how the hell do you adjust them without taking them off the car? Or at least unbolting from one side? No instructions came with them, so i put them on the way that made most sense: tightend one big nut against the arm and the other nut against a smaller nut, while keeping them as close lengthwise to the stock as possible.

Someone please tell me it's possible to adjust them without taking off the car, before i take it to an alignment shop and feel like a dumbass when they tell me they can't do it.

PS. I know sounds like a dumb question, but i seriously have trouble seeing how these can be length modified while bein on the car :squintd:

didn't you inspect them before installation? they're reverse threaded on one side and normally threaded on the other. that way you can turn one middle piece and both sides will function to lengthen or shorten.

yeah yeah yeah, i noticed that... still though somehow it doesn't add up for me, and i dont feel like getting under the car again :) but i guess it would just make sense to design them the right way :) ok off to the allignment shop hehe.

ok took it to an alignment shop, but they said they can't work with modified suspensions. Something about their equipment set to stock specs. BS? Or some performance shop that works with modified suspensions is my only choice?

are you serious? damn, even firestone will take our cars if they can even get on the ramp. try ntb, they take our cars as well (multilink/coilover). you don't have to go to a race alignment shop, just find a shop where the alignment specialists aren't sitting around holding eachothers members and are ready to do REAL work.

I'm startign to get a feeling if i ever do find a place to align the car for me, they'll charge an arm and leg for doing it :-/

You can do a decent alignment with a good tape measure for now until you find someone willing, although I've never heard of a place turning down a car like that.

The Midas in my town told me they couldnt align my car because if they jacked it up the suspension would readjust itself. So when they put it down the coilovers would be "changed" and because of this they would make a clicking noise. So i just went to firestone and they didnt even give it a second thought.

i didnt kno firestone aligns cars and does cambers. i guess ill be taking it there. ive heard of several shops not working with adjustable mulilinks cause theyre equipment can only set it to factory specs. i dont know if thats bs or not.

it's a little different here on the EC. you want to try one of those specialty tire / alignment shops (not talking about silly tuner shops). usually they are like mom and pop style places that specialize in selling tires. the one in particular local to me always has business oriented old school cars sitting in the back of the lot. they sell everything from tires for your moms camry, to falken azenies to hoosiers. they also sponsor a blue/yellow porsche that seems to run road courses alot judging by all the pics in their office. :P

theres info on the internet on how to do a dirty DIY alignment, at least for setting toe. you should probably go with that for now, then call around and find a shop that will do it.

the only shop around here that would do it for me costs like $120 or so. And they ONLY set it to factory specs. So, just get it done to factory spec, and then use camber plates to measure the camber if you have to.
