I have an 89 Coupe with 5 lug conversion. Should I order struts from a S13 or an S14?

What method did you use to do the swap? Use the S14 uprights?

That's the problem, I didn't do the swap. I assume the guy who did the swap used S14 uprights, because he used an S14 SE parts car. $800 in shocks and springs is a pretty big assumption though. Is there any easy way to tell?

I used hubs from an S14 SE and didn't use the uprights, so don't assume that to be the case. For the rear.... if the lower shock mount is a bolt attached to the spindle, that the shock slides over, then a nut goes on the end, you have S13 spindles and most likely shocks. If there is a bolt, going through the shock, screwing into where the spindle is, it's an s14 spindle and shock. And for the front, pull out one of your Lower mounting bolts, if you can see that the shock has been drilled out to accomodate the larger S14 bolt, then you know you have S13 shocks and will need to do the same to your brand new shocks... or you can use my method: http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=51050&highlight=Spindle+sleeves
