Living vicariously through a well-acted (while still shitty cuban accent speaking) Al Pacino in a roll than makes the ignorant feel impowered

Napoleon Dynamite

Maybe not the best. Certainly the two funniest.
I own both on DVD, have yet to remove the first mentioned from the plastic in several weeks (but I have some movies and SEVERAL DVDs that have gone unopened since 2003) but I like Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Monty Python's "The Life of Brian" is fucking FUNNY too

2 years ago The Matrix would have been just about the first movie listed in this thread.. interesting how sequels can screw a legend.

Ones I like that are already listed:
The Matrix
Fight Club
Monty Python: The Holy Grail
Ninja Scroll
Pulp Fiction
Office Space
anything by Kevin Smith
Apocolypse Now was like the most FUCKED UP movie I've seen.. truly twisted. "I Love the smell of Napalm in the morning." Probably one of the best lines ever spoken in a movie.

Not listed yet, but as good or better than anything listed so far..

Military movie: A Few Good Men.. very intense; The Bridge on the River Kwai - classic

Vampire flicks: anything Blade, From Dusk Till Dawn, and of course.. Bram Stockers Dracula.

Western: The Shootist with John Wayne is awesome.

Comedy: Blazing Saddles and Robin Hood Men in Tights .. both Mel Brooks classics. and Animal House.. :-P

Anime: Ghost in the Shell 1 & 2, and Vampire Hunter D <one of my ALL TIME FAV anime

Scary movies: The Ring, the original Nightmare on Elm Street. <that movie screwed me up as a kid for like 5 or 6 YEARS.

Sci-Fi - #1: Star Wars (holy crap, I can't believe no one has said this...)

Twisted Drug induced crazyness: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Serious drama: (drumrolll please.. ) CITIZEN KANE

I might add more later... movies rock.

the first matrix was so amazing. Than the writers ran out of ideas and had no idea what to write about, so they just pawned off a gay "hes jesus" ending. SOOOO GAY.

Kudos to Donnie Darko though.

In other news, G.W. Bush declears war on the Zentradi. Stating that they've been harboring Al Qaeda, in possession of WMDs, outlawing democratic rights for the Zentradi people, and have oil.

I cant imagine a movie collection without this one.
This movie is just too good and completely fucked up. Makes you want to rip your own guts out. I haven't seen teh U.S. release yet so i dont know if there were things cut out. The Korean version which i have is pretty damn graphic.

any old Hitchcock movie is great for any type of viewing. Vertigo, Dial M for Murder, North By Northwest, The Birds, Rear Window, Pyscho, etc...

Agreed

Tyler was a night person while the rest of us were sleeping, he worked.
He had one part time job as a projectionist
See a movie doesnt come all on one big reel, it comes on a few so someone has to be there to switch the projectors at the exact moment that one reel ends and and the next one begins.
If you look for it you can see these little dots come in at the upper right hand corner of the screen.
In the industry we call them, cigarette burns.
Thats the cue for a change over he flips the projectors, the movie keeps right on going and nobody in the audience has any idea.
Why would anyone want this shit job?
Because it affords him other interesting opportunities.
Like splicing single frames of pornography into family films.
So when the snoody cat, and the courageous dog, with the celebrity voices meet for the first time in reel three, that's when you'll catch a flash of Tyler's contribution to the film....
Nobody knows that they saw it, but they did...
A nice, big, cock

Even a hummingbird couldnt catch Tyler at work

Had to do it for message length, and perhaps spark some intrest in the film for those who havent seen it

Has anyone else seen the movie BASIC? It has a classic Sam Jackson seem in it, where of course he is yelling.
Jackson: I hail from biloxi mississippi, where vanilla mutha fuckers like that used to hang us from a tree on a whim. Does that sound like some place you wanna grow up son?
Pike: Sgt, no sgt
Jackson: (As he grabs pike by the neck and picks him up off the ground) Are you trying to imply something negative about the great state of Mississippi?
If you like Samuel L. Jackson, you will like this movie.

I am sorta a movie fanatic. I watch all good films internationally. Several of you mentioned some really good movies, but I'm gonna add two more cuz I scanned through the list and didn't see it listed. Correct me if I'm wrong.

1. The Man From Earth - Sci-fi movie that'll keep you entertained till the end and make you wonder many days after. I'd give this 8.5/10

2. OldBoy(korean) - This movie is kinda crazy. Twists and such, and kinda messed up. 8.2/10.

Once Upon a Time in America (Directors Cut only)

Sergio Leone, greatest director of all time. One of the more complex movies that were released. But still has a non-linear genius to it.
