Hey guys i haven't been on the forums for a while, i really missed it. Anyways I am going to get shocks and springs to lower my car a bit. I was wondering what would be the best shocks to get for the 240. Also i want to lower the car so that i get rid of that nasty gap we have. Would 2" be to much? how does a 240 look with a 2" drop. If 2" is too much then should i go with a 1.8" or less? Oh and what are a good set of springs? Please help me with this guys its really bugging me and i don't want to fuck up. OH one more thing I noticed that Nismo sells Koni shocks and Eibach springs, are they any good? PLEASE HELP ME <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> !!!

I have kyb agx and eibach prokits on my car and I am pretty happy with it. Note, that the ugly wheelgap won't diminish by much. I have about a 1 inch drop all around.

2" is a big drop on a s13/s14. You will should definately get a camber kit if your going that low. Also, you won't have much suspension travel, so going over bumps, speedbumps, etc. will be a bitch. I think sprint makes springs that go that low, so does Intrax. But I am not too sure about the specs on these springs. Sportlines drop about 1.5+ without cutting, although their spring rates aren't stiff enough for "spirited driving".

What do you want, looks or performance?

Make sure that if your going that low, you get springs with sufficient spring rates so that you don't bottom out. Don't overdo the spring rates either, or else you'll pass a kidney stone on the way to the liquor store. My two cents.

Well i am going for a combination of looks and performance, more towards preformance. I want to lower the car about 2" but still be able to drive the car hard. On that note don't springs settle lower then the actual lowering rate that they state? for example don't 2" springs actually settle at 2.2" to 2.3"?

Depends on what spring you go with. .5 inches with Eibach's are optimistic as far as settling.

I don't know, but 2 inches sounds like a pretty big drop. Not sure which s14 you have, but in my '96, I have a bitch of a time getting out of steep driveways, esp. w/ the front lip, and my drop's only about 1.5. But eibach and koni sounds like a pretty decent setup. I'm pretty sure a few of the guys here have this setup too.
