I have no Idea how to do a compression test on my pulled engine. it is still conected to its transmission and starter. any help would be apreciated. thanks.

12 volts to the starter should turn the motor over. Remove plugs, hookup guage and fire away. Make sure its not in gear.

If it has not been run in awhile you might have some low numbers if the oil has all drained into the pan. You also will have low numbers since the motor is cold.

just make sure the battery you are using is strong enough to turn the motor over fast enough, also make surre you have someone to hold the motor as it will move when turning over.

I tried doing the 12v thing, but all it does is shoot the starter thingy out but it does not spin it. I for some reason have to groung out the base of the starter to get it to turn. I will go out and try it again.

If I get it to work the numbers should all still be roughly the same correct.
