i have a vaccum line with vaccuum and i don't know where it goes? this might be why my gas milage sucks, so i swaped a DOHC into my SOHC car and my friend re routed all the vaccum lines and said they were all hooked up and accounted for then i get the car running and one of the lines has vaccum still? but i don't know where it goes? if i plug it the car dies? if i leave it open as i have been it's idling high, so the only thing i can think of is that it's gotta go into the intake manifold somewhere? anyone have aany ideas?? thanks

Maybe the fuel pressure regulator?

A vacuum source is required to decrease the fuel pressure under any vacuum...so without it hooked up, the injectors are spraying too much fuel unless you're at WOT (0 vacuum).

??? Just a guess...???

has to go to the fpr, thats wat i can think of, when u drive does it bog down at like 4000rpms and feel like its loosing power, if so has to be vacuum line going tot he fpr or i think theres one routed to the canister. good luck.

it doesn't appear to be bogging or loosing power?

it doesnt go to the butterfly valves or whatever the hell those things are, does it.
btw, it would be obvious if it goes to fpr or now, i mean the thing is just sitting out there inthe open right,

yah it would be pretty obvious but i dunno why dont u get ur cousin or whoever did it and have em look at what he did and see wat he says, cuz he should remember where he ran all the hoses. hope ths helps.

well its a t clip thing on ur fpr, one to the regulator one to the intake manifold and one to canister ib elieve, i would just ask him cuz if he set up he should know what to look for, id have to look at it to tell. good luck.

hmm thats get me thinkin now, maybe that vacuum line can get removed entirely, and just cap off the nipples on the fpr and whereever its coming from, (yah i said nipple) see what happenes.

BUT, he said if he plugs it, the car dies, so he could not cap it, I think one of three things,
Have ur friend come back and redo it
get in there with a flashlight and find the source
go get a vacuum diagram and do it yourself, make sure everytyhings in place

Put it back!!!..Engine uses the Carbon cannister as a vacuum purge for the fuel system. It keeps your gasoline from evaporating into the environment. When the engine is running, the air is drawn thru the bottom of the cannister. Fuel vapor is reroutedto the intake manifold. Check your FSM for further explaination.

i found out that the line goes to the solenoid on the back of the motor, the one on the passenger side, anyone know where it should be plugged into?
