i just wanted to know if anyone out there with s14a or s14's have a round metal piece stuck on top of there rear shocks ?
what i am talking about is where the back speakers are when you take out the plastic piece on top which the speaker grills you should see two bolts holding the rear shocks does anyone else have a round piece of metal covering the middle part of it ?
and is it safe to take that part out

Just remove the two olts and remove the lower mounting bolt and take the whole thing out of the car. I don;t have that part but i'm sure it's just a cap. It's covering the locking bolt right? Just remove the whole assembly to get a better look.

As far as I've seen older s14's have a little rubber thing that covers the bolt but newer ones have the metal thing. anyhow you don't need it but unless your going to up grade your suspension there is no point on taking it out, it's way to much work imo.

yea i wasnt thinking of taking it out either but now since my car has been lowered, whenever i drive there is a sound coming from the back on the passenger side and i think that it is the metal piece hitting against something so i want to take it of and see if the sound goes away.
