I'm looking to upgrade my intake manifold for my rb25 but I just want some suggestions.
I was leaning towards an ebay one for roughly 300 but I was told in some cases they can deter and get stuff you don't want in your motor.
Any suggestions? Or experience you've had with one you've bought and is still running?

Have someone cut and re weld the flange on your stock manifold and make it a front facing one if you wanna Go the cheapest route. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/uploads/monthly_08_2006/post-94-144023472017.jpg

just get an ebay one and make sure the flange is flat or else get it resurfaced and use a new gasket.
Modifying the stock intake manifold is a good idea, and probably perform better than a greddy style mani, but tig welding ain't cheap, and it takes a lot of welding to modify it like that.

I have an ebay freddy intake for my rb25. I got it because greddy does not sell a polished intake, only the textured one. I have not been burning coolant or leaking coolant in 5000 + kms. Also habe not leaked fuel .
As far as deterioration, i cannot say as i havent taken it off to inspect

I've been running one for years. rtv the coolant neck and take to shop and make sure the head face is level and rtv on the coolant galleys.

Better solutions exist today.
You can get for ~$650 a fabricated RB25 manifold with big throttle body and AN-lines for the coolant. This is way nicer than the shit-cast Freddy's and even legit Greddy.
Helps clean up all the damn cooling lines, gets you a bigger TB and looks sharp as hell too.

why are we reviving an old thread?
Anyway, i modified a stocker a couple years back on a car I sold. Butt dyno didnt noticed any hp loses and it cleaned up the bay nicely
