by pass s13 factory amp

well, so i'm trying to bypass the factory amp, since i have an aftermarket headunit, and the factory amp went out on the back, so i tried to bypass it by directly connecting the wires that are suppose to be together (i really don't know if this is smart), and i get MAD alternator noise from the rear passanger side... and then, when i turned on the radio, my front speakers won't work, i pressed my break, and the front spakers kicked in, and then, i went out for a drive, after like 50 miles, i hit a bump, and the front speakers went out again...

so basically here's my question:

anyone know how to bypass the stock amp on an s13?
where do you hook up your aftermarket amp's switch?

Cut brown and red wires from the incoming connector.

Cut the red and gray wires from the speaker connectors.

Splice red with red and gray with brown.
