If it's keeping you from driving the car I would just put it all together without them and when you get them install.

I did my swap eons ago and just cut the rolled edge off my stock shield. 5 Years never had an issue.

Need the ones off a silvia, 300zx mounts different. Got some off a q45 to try to make fit. Will probably make my own with ducting. currently without, its fine.

Because if he really wants them to just slip on and go he needs Silvia ones (top trim silvia came with 4 pots, noob). Q45 is the same outer diameter but where it mounts to the spindle is larger, therefore doesn't fit. 300zx brake shields, while being the correct diameter, do not mount to the spindle in the same fashion as the 240sx/Silvia. I suppose you could pop rivet them to the original dust shield essentially modifying them to work.

At this point with the amount of time and fab involved you could just construct a set with a hookup for brake ducting. Pardon my short response earlier, figured I'd get asked for clarification before being flamed.

For clarification, I've run without shielding for 8 years, its fine. I have a set of q45 ones if you want to make them fit.

My entire point still continues to revolve around the fact that you don't NEED them to have the car operational.

It's just not worth it to pull your hair out over trying to track down specific ones. trim what you got and if you come across a pair that you want to swap on later, do it!
