Custom?

Fuck the bc stroker kit.
What would you do?

For the record. I dont plan on keeping this n/a i already have a turbo setup

L20 doesn't work

Custom crank...LMAO

BC is your only option but a waste considering its price.

If you want more revs, get the rotating assembly balanced, blueprint the block, make sure your head is spec'd and run an ATI damper.

Pretty sure l20 works with a z24 block or even a l18/20 block. I dont want to destroke though. But i feel the hcw crank is such a hold back to the engine. And yes custom like a 1 off from a shop or something.

You gonna throw 10K+ to get a custom crank?
No.

For the cost of a FCW crank you could build 2 built KA's. There are people revving them to 8k already... It's just a huge waste of time.

Yea :( fuck the whole l or z block to. I just want a simple viable solituon to a fcw crank in a ka block.

Modified l20 crank to fit into ka block? Id have to look into pricing but if its cheap enough might be a viable easy solution to this pos hcw

Journals are too big IIRC

Upon further incestigation i have found conflicting info on whether or not the L20 crank will fit or not. Ive read that the main journal is same as the kade @ 2.36 and i have read that it is 2.16 WHICH ONE IS IT. If they end up being the same and i used z24 pistons and rods will it work on my ka block.

Doesn't work.

Doesn't work.

Why though? Have you tried it? I just see so much conflicting information.

There was a thread that I can no longer find, and the last time I looked it up over a year ago the images no longer worked. It didn't work, guy had mock up pictures and everything.

I really dont want to make a account on some datsun forum lol. If there are any real ppl who have done something like this using a ka head and block please come forward. $10 pp to anyone who can lead me to correct information and proof it has been done.

the main bearings are the same diameter, but not the same width.

Just weld some extra weights on your crankshaft. /thread

Is welding actually possible and will be reliable/safe lol

jared420sx

Well welding the crank is just retarded. Y does no one have a solution ),:

Buy the BC crank there's the solution. Stop looking for a cheap ass method without being willing to do any actual work.

At the end of the day you still have an old design with an incredibly long stroke.

"Without being willing to do ny actul work"
Idgi? what am i not doing. I keep trying to find a decent solution with out spending 2000 on a fucking crank from bc. Ive done so much research i came here to see if anyone has a solution or expierence

No one has tried the L20B crank in a KA yet. It is possible on paper, but you'll most likely need custom bearings and rods which cost money where you'll be better off just getting the BC crank ORRRRR just keep the stock crank, get an ATI dampener, an aftermarket intake manifold, cams and headwork with all the money you saved by switching to practical. You could still rev that bitch to 7500 all day.

It's been gone over it doesn't work. The attempts died long go when someone finally sat the crank in the ka block and said well that's it.
