Hi everyone, sorry for asking this again - I did a search, looked at FAQs, did research, but I am still so unbelievably confused.

Here are the parts that I have so far: fenders, hood, JDM Kouki bumper. I do realize that I have quite a few parts left to get, but I have a big question regarding the bumper support.

Grant's FAQ mentioned that you only need the bumper reinforcement - but the part is listed as an upper retainer (62290-80F00).

95KoukiS14's FAQ mentioned a lot more parts that are needed, such as the upper retainer (62290-80F00), the bumper reinforcement (62030-81F00), and 2 lamp support brackets (62560-80F00).

So now my question here is, which one is a more accurate FAQ? Also, because I have a JDM Kouki bumper, will it just fit on with no problems? I just want to make sure before I buy everything and end up finding out that I bought something that I don't really need.

Thanks for your help guys!

The part Grant calls the bumper reinforcement is indeed the upper retainer/bumper support/bumper bracket. Unfortunately everyone calls it a bumper reinforcement which is a totally different (and not absolutely needed) part (62030-81F00). Dunno what 62560-80F00 is but I'm guessing you could probably do without it.

bumper reinforcement is this big thing that you mount so that when you get into a crash it'll reinforce the bumper and help absorb the impact. you dont really need it.

you do need the upper retainer though.
corner lights, headlights, oh yeah, remember to get the rubber trim that lines the edge of your hood. w/o it, there will be a gap between the hood and headlights.

oh yeah, washer nozzles too. 95-96 and 97-98 washer nozzles are different.

Thanks for the quick responses, you guys! So I guess all I have to do now is buy the grille, headlights, corner lights, the bumper bracket/upper retainer (62290-80F00), bumper reinforcement (62030-81F00), bumper side brackets (62222-80F00)(62223-80F00), the stays (62270-81F00)(62271-81F00), washer nozzles and the rubber trim for the hood.

Right?

Oh man, and my dad was already getting on my case about all the parts sitting in the garage. I hope I can hid these pieces well! ;)

Thanks again everyone! I really hope I can get going with this - I've been collecting pieces for over a year and looking for the right deals. Its been so tempting just to buy everything new, but I am really happy that I've waited this long.

I'm more accurate damnit....btw I use to be 95KoukiS14 :D

As for the JDM bumper...some people have no issues...others have to hack at the reinforcement so the turn signals will fit. I have the JDM bumper and when it gets warm I will test fit it with the turn signals. You can also look at my write-up on how to wire the headlights.

It might be because of differences between 97 and 98, but i'm not sure if thats the cause of fitment issues.

There it is.
Look up a 97-98 FSM and view the headlamp schematic, you'll see the relay wired in to trip the lowbeams. Do the same. Usually you can nab a DPDT relay from any boneyard, they're brown colored in most Nissans and will have 6pins.
