I have an rb26 in my 92 240sx, I am getting ready to purchase a turbo to instal on my T4 Open/undivided manifold. The rb26 is stock unopened and I'll be running pump 93 octane fuel.

I am hoping for close to 500whp outta the thing and I will be doing lots of street driving. I am a Precision fanboy because I liked their turbos the best on my drag mustang I had a while back. Thank you all for your opinions. I just want something that spools up nice and would like to make 500 or real close hp numbers.

Shoot me some opinions.

HKS t51r is the only turbo the rb26 can use for that.

HKS? Hmmm is there any precision or maybe garret anyone could recommend?

Could probably hit 500whp on some 2530s and have much better response than a T4 single scroll turbo.

I understand, the thing is I am wanting to know what would be best to work with what I currently have. I do unerstand a single turbo twin scroll setup would be better but, Im wanting to put some miles on the car.

What I'm saying is go back to twins, stock ported manifolds, garrett/HKS 2530s and some O2 housings and you should hit 500whp while being super responsive.

If you want to go single do it right or stick with the T4 undivided and have a laggy street setup.

How laggy are we talking?

Im not going back to twins, not worth the money in my opinion.

Im not going to buy a twin scroll manifold either, unless someone else wants to gift me all the money to buy one.

I just asked what would be a good turbo to buy for a single t4 undivided?

A solid twin setup will be cheaper, have better performance and be more reliable than a journal bearing PTE turbo on a ebay manifold.

Ditch the ebay crap and do it right. Don't have the cash? Go back to the twins.

same oil lines and coolant lines which would make your life easier if you decided to go with the twins as hobbs said if you can find twin T517z would do the job also!

A twin-scroll manifold and something like a GT(X)3582R should do the trick.

I didnt shoot myself in the foot, the previous owner shot himself in the foot. Its what I have to work with.

And Im not using a journal bearing precision, I plan on shelling out the dough for a cea ball bearing, billet wheel, and ported anti-surge cover. I will be using ball bearing turbos only to help with the manifold that was on the car when I got it.

I went ahead and spent a lil money on a t4 twin scroll manifold.

Now since I have a twin scroll t4 manifold what would be a good turbo for a stock rb?

I favor precisions CEA billet wheel, ball bearing, ported cover turbos.. What would you all pick?

Open Scroll EFR 7670 and done. I would not recommend the T51R due to lag. As much as I agree with the twins, the complexity and extra components make it a more indepth/complex project.

Grab a used Open Scroll manifold and a 7670 turbo. Lag will be minimal (similar to a twin T28 turbo setup on a RB26). No need for a wastegate or BOV either. Simple, effective and time to boost and response is not rivaled (Garretts turbine wheels are also fairly outdated. Precision, well I have no experience with, but would prefer the EFR regardless).

I had a T4 open on it and everyone kept telling me I needed a twin scroll? So I went and spent the money already today on a twin scroll. Now your saying an open single scroll T4 undivided and a 7670 turbo?

I mean really? Are you guys playin f$&k f&$k games with me now or what?

I missed your mention of a twin scroll manifold

In that case, get a twin scroll EFR 7670. They do make them in twin scroll btw.
