Guys, I need your oppinion on something, please help me out

Aight, i wanna get a 98 240 SX, and convert it to an s14 Sivlia...s15 front, GTR34 Rears and blah blah blah
For the Engine...i want mainly, one of these 2 options

-an r33 rb25det RWD Skyline Engine
or
-a GTR34 or GTR33 rb26dett engine with rb25 rwd tranny and stuff

Now, i know those are very rare swaps, and it would take a lot of research and work to do either of them...and the car would be a long investment...like, at least a 3 year project.
I found one company, Unstable-Hyrbirds that specialized in Nissan swaps (unstable-hybrids.com) They said it would prolly be about 8k for the rb25, and anywhere from 12-15 for the rb26dett...and im using that as a base estimate...

The car would still need to be practicle, as it would be my Daily Driver, but a show worthy car, as well as fast on the strip, and good for drifting (i live an hour from Canada's Mountains... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> )
I know something like an sr20det or an rb20det would be a lot more practicle, but im looking to be unique and crap...
can anyone give me any honest suggestions? should i go for the above? or should i just get something like a Type R or something?
Thanx,
-Xyla

an RB should NOT be a daily driver. &nbsp; You will have trouble finding parts for it (alternator, starter). &nbsp; If you want to have a unique daily-driven 240sx. &nbsp;Get an SR20VET

Would you mind explaining what an SR20VET is?

it's an sr20 with VTEC, basically. &nbsp;A lot of power, but rare. &nbsp;I forget the hp numbers. &nbsp; It's in the Nissan Primera in japan

it's similar to vtec, like toyota's VVTLI is.
Anyways, yeah, i know an rb25-rb26 isint that....practicle,
and it would be hard as hell to fit it in the engine bay
I thought about an sr20det, but...maybe. &nbsp;Also, the sr20vet might work?
got any places that import them? i've only seen sr20dets and rb's.
I heard that an rb20det from an r32, or an rb26dett from an r32 fit a little better...would that work?

the RB20 and RB26 blocks should be just about the same dimension between the R32 and R34... so in either case your fitment problem is present.
I wasn't aware that an SR20VE was available in RWD format.... and I was also under the impression that the FWD and RWD heads differed.

Finally.... converting a 240sx into an S14 Silvia with no S14 parts?? &nbsp; That just sounds odd...... &nbsp; It'd be more like an S14.5 Sil-Line going by what people have been naming these odd combinations.....

The Primera uses the SR20VE (no turbo). The SR20VET was showcased in a Nissan concept SUVish type project, hasnt been put in production, right? Why would you want the variable timing, its only gonna limit you once you get in the higher power region.

Ace, i was just talking about the Engine, i would be converting with some s14 parts...(My inspiration to do this was Non Fujita's s14...its so badass.)
aaanyways, thanks for your help guys, i appriecate it.
I thought maybe about an rb26dett from an r32...its smaller then the r33 and r34 versions right? so it might be able to fit easier...
i dunno tho, maybe i should just go with an sr20det vetfrom an s15...

Just for your info....SR20VET is made for a transverse-mount bay.....I would go for the SR20DET. &nbsp; Not as original as an rb26dett, but a hell of an engine anyway.
