Hello Ive been looking for a new turbo setup for my sr20det,Im looking to run around 300whp but no more then 320whp and no less ythen 280whp,the choices were gt28r which seems like it will be maxed out at about 280-300 ish whp and don't want to spend money on something that wont last, the disco potato gt28rs was a great choice but the price is insane, then theres gt2871r,how will this turbo be at 300whp?I found twisted motion has a direct bolt on turbo for the sr and its a steal at under $400,If anyone has info on this turbocharger please let me know what you think, how is the spool up gonna be hows it compare to gt28r/rs or even the pulsar GTIr turbo?this will be a street car and weekend fun car will this turbo be.

Also on your basic stock internal sr wirh basic bolt ons (and adequate fuel supply of coarse how much boost would it take estimated to get the 300whp?Basically I'm going for 255lph fuel pump/fmic/550cc injectors/z32 maf/3in exhaust/enthalpy tuned ecu and at this point twisted motion gt2871r,Thanks guys.

Why dont you want to make more power? 2871r at 300whp is not fun. 300whp today is very slow. The new camrys make 300, but If you really want to stay at 300 then take your time and save up for the disco.

One of the best choices for 300whp is the GT2860R(S). You will make that much around 15psi. The 2871 is better suited to 350-400whp. As for that $400 turbo, you get what you pay for.

I thought about Twisted Motion for a while, but then quickly realized its,

1.) Most likely a Chinese turbo that's been rebranded.

2.) Notice the lack or proper grammar on their site and the insane amount of exclamation marks? That honestly pulls up a red flag for me, regardless of how smart/educated/legit the company is.

3.) You'd be better off spending less money on a Chinese turbo off ebay since atleast it isn't rebranded. If anything just grab an ISIS RS3871 or something.

I have been looking on a Twisted motion my self, but i bought a Garrett GT2871R instead.

The thinks i don't like with Twisted motion is :

1. When they have a burglary, they got some goodspeed turbo's stolen, cheap china turbo's, why do they have than in there shop ?

2. They says that it is lasting arround 1 or 2 years only ?

Quote :
Version 1 lasts about a year or so and version 2 lasts about 2 years, that's beating on it often.I have a bunch that last over 3 years .We won't try and lie and say it will last forever, we are here to tell the truth buddy.

Lol how you gonna tell someone they're not going to have fun with 300whp? Just cause maybe you won't doesn't mean everyone else won't. I think 300whp in an s chassis is plenty

I have the twisted motion v1 works great for over a year now...daily drive it pushing 19 lbs and is a blast! They do just take the godspeed turbo balance it and put better seals in to help them last longer and keep cost down...a garret is worth it's money tho especially for the peace of mind

Its not fun, because that turbo is not suited for 300whp, its too laggy. If he wants 300whp, he can have it. I cant stop him, Im just suggesting a different turbo with quicker response :picardfp:

Thanks for the advise,I'm pretty sure 300whp will be plenty of power for a street s13,I'm pretty sure a 2015 camry is closer to 200whp and its a boat, even if it was 300whp a s13 is much lighter and much faster at 300whp then a super heavy 2015 boat, this is the beauty of these s13's in my eyes in fact I bet 300whp will be faster then 90% of whats on the street today as the power rises in newer vehicles so does the weight in fact I bet a 2015 256hp camry is no faster then a 1997 170hp camry.I'm not sayin that 300 is gonna be a missle but it WILL be faster then most in such a light chassis.

It is a 400$ turbo, so it is going to be some crappy rebranded chinese turbo. No need to look any further...

300HP in an S13 is fun, with crappy tyres. Add good tyres and you will quickly want a hundred more. But then the costs skyrocket, so on a limited budget, 300HP is good.

Just don't use a chinabay special, thats wasted money. the gt2560r new is around 750$, it is cheap and spools fast. If you want more and ready to spend a little more, a gtx2867r will work wonders. Then you got EFRs, some exist with a T28 flange so you don't need a new manifold, but they are pricey and you'll still need a custom downpipe.

Get a Skyline. I heard they are dope. You won't have fun in an S-Chassis.

Ive seen a lot of people in town run the turbo with success. Also if im correct they may have a warranty for the turbo. Or course a garrett would be a better choice but all depends on budget
