so just to set the record straight, I have a pretty much stock blacktop sr20det.
I finally got it running yesterday, it ran just fine until it was warmed up.
the idle dropped to what I assume to be 500 rpm's. (my gauges aren't working at the moment so its just an estimate) and when I gave it a little gas the car sputters and acts like it wants to die. I decided to take it around the block to see how it drives and it would die if I didn't give it constant throttle. keep in mind that the car has been sitting for 6 months and still has the 87 octane I put in mid January... any clue what could be wrong? I replaced my fuel filter about 6 months ago and am running a wahlboro 255. I don't think the fuel is the issue but I could be wrong. someone please help!!!!:picardfp:

Well the sr needs 91 since its boosted. And you need to check for the usual boost leaks. Also the iacv on most of these engines seem to get gunked up so look into that as well.

I'll check my iacv and let you know how it goes. I noticed earlier that if I don't tap the throttle it'll idle fine, it sounds like it's still at a low rpm but doesn't try to die. it only acts up after I tap the gas pedal.

you need to reset base timing and idle.
remember by pressing the throttle, you only control air. the ecu controls everything else.
being as you've been giving the ecu the wrong information(87oct) for a long time, you should do a basic tuneup.

I've been reading up some on my bov set up ,I'm running stock boost and have a hks ssq4 bov. Could that be another reason it sputters after I give it some gas? Just a thought, I'm only 17 and still very new to this....
