Removing crank spacer from crank sr20

is it possible to remove this spacer while the front cover is on?? i tried spraying it with pb blaster and took vice grips to it, but that didn't work for shit..

i REALLY don't want to pull the motor to remove this spacer...... anyone have any suggestions or tools to use?
