For some reason I have only been getting around 3 to 4 in. hg. for vacuum at idle. no idea why. no boost or vac leaks that I can find anywhere. Its a FULLY built redtop, with Tomei solid head setup and 270 cams. Is it supposed to be that low with the solid head setup??

Also, when the engine is cold, I have to sit in the car and keep revving it for almost 10 minutes until it gets to running temperature or else it wont idle on its own. I think this may have to do with the vacuum problem. Any ideas?

Is this just how a fully built redtop SR is supposed to act?

Thanks!

Sounds like it's not timed correctly.

would the timing affect the cold starting of the engine as well? Because when the car warms up it runs great, does really well. Would this be a CAS timing thing, or a tune timing thing? the CAS is 100% installed in the head correctly.

^That.

Yes, mechanical timing being off will mess with everything.
