So the engine I have, well idk what year it came out of. I've got a 62 ecu with a enthalpy tune. Is that the right ecu to run my engine? Sorry I'm new to most of this. I've got a e6 which I think is for a blacktop auto but I'm not sure. Any advice

E5/E6 uses the fat type O2 sensor (blacktop). E5 being manual and E6 being automatic. Otherwise the ECUs are the same as the 62/63 (redtop).

I've got a fat O2. But it went out now I've got a skinny one. Can you use a e6 automatic ecu on it even if it's a 5 spd

Yes but if you use the E6 ECU you will need to switch to a fat type O2 sensor. Skinny type is only for 62/63 ECUs.

Oh no worries there. I just didn't know you could use an automatic ecu on a manual

Yes, people do it all the time. My friend currently runs a #63 ECU in his M/T redtop with no issues, runs the same as it did when he had to use my #62 for a month.

You can, it'll run pig rich because the stock ECU is tuned for 370cc injectors. I wouldn't advise it.

Cool I've got someone giving me stock ones so I'll just use them

So does the 62 use a skinny O2 then?

Yes, only 62 and 63 use the skinny O2 sensor. Every other ECU uses fat type.

Well that could've been a problem cause my 62 was using a fat one

what would using a fat o2 on a 62 ecu do?
