I'm seriously thinking about buying a CA soon. I've done some research and found that the SR and KA have the same internals, but what about the CA? I'm just thinking down the road incase I do buy a CA and the tranny goes out.

they share the internals with the ca18et which is a us engine. not sure with a ka though.
this is the type of thing you should go on some datsun boards to figure out

why thinking about internal being the same?
just swap the bellhousing and your good to go.

gear ratios are different. Engine internals are NOT the same at all. obviously. just to clarify. the transmissions are similar.

The CA18DET has the FS5W71C with similar gear ratios to the KA. 5th gear is shorter (closer) but the others are the same. Dunno if the bellhousing swap works like the SR trans, but the "internals" are close.

The CA18DE has totally different gearing.

no, but it's swapable but you can use CA bellhousing with KA tranny. You can even use KA cluth disc with CA pressure plate. That's what my brother did to his. He got a CA in a 90 240sx.

cool, so the bellhousing and the gear box will swap with a KA?
