ok so i was talking to marc at import auto performance IAP....yea i posted this on another thread, and he says their t3/t4 hybrid no shit has 5 psi boost by 1800 rpm on their stage 1 car. he says theirs is custom made from turbo innovations and has 360 thrust bearing and super light i guess. but anybody with one of these kits attest to that? is that possible? i was thinking of going straight t3 but now i like the sound of that spool up.

maybe with a chevy 350 motor

hes full of shit. unless you missed the part of the conversation where he said ".................in 5th gear"

yea i guess its too good to be true, i told him that sounded a little fudged...but he swears up and down that is what its spooling up at. ok im just going back to piecing it together with my straight t3 60 trim, .48 a/r and conventional bearings, i think that should work for my tastes. and cheaper!

.48 is really small, and will really choke things up high in the rpm's.

ya think? what you recommend then, i more concerned with spool that high horsepower. im only looking for 230-250 horsepower to the wheels...

you should look at a T-3 super 60, with a .63 turbine and .60 compressor. This is what I am running and have actually taken it up to 1 bar and didn't witness any choking in higher rpms. I got mine from turbocalculater.com

I make 6psi at 2500 with a t3 super 60 and an IAP manifold. I also make 10psi at 4800 with a 3.5psi wastegate spring.

that IAP manifold is so expensive though...well so what everyone is saying on here is that .48 turbine a/r is too small, but the guys at turbocalculator.com and my calculations and my niftly little program say .48 is fine for what i want.

^^^ Hahahahaha... :tweak:

I'm really beginning to wonder about these guys...

There have been SO many of their manifolds that have boost creep...and to their credit, they have been working with everyone to fix it (from what I read on this and other forums)...but the fact remains, they all creep.

But now quoting such rediculous spool...c'mon...

I've done a KA-T with a Z31 T3 and JGS manifold, and it's at 5psi by ~2500 in most gears...that's about the best you can get. Even Ace's T25 wouldn't make 5psi under 2000rpm...

About the .48...it'll do, but for a 2.4 liter motor, the .63 will spool in a very similar fashion, plus give you better top end b/c the turbine can flow a lot more...

IMO, I'd rather spool 200rpm later and have ~1500rpm more up top where I make power...rather than choking it off.
