ALright

I've been doing al little research into extended wheel studs for a 5 lug S14, since I now want to get 10mm-15mm spacers to make my wheels more flush. I have seen a fewe theards where it states that there are alternatives to the $60 nismo studs. This is what I have found:

S14 front wheel studs(According to Courtesy NIssan) 40mm long:
Serration
14.3x36t........What does that mean? I found some where else that the knurl size for the front is a .563

S14 Rear wheel studs (40mm long)
Serration
13x36t.........Again have no idea what the Serration is nor the numbers after it??? But I again I found somewhere that it says that the rear has a knurl size of .511????

Now I can't find where in the service manual it has this info.

I have also came across a few people that have used the Moroso Wheel studs for late GM disc brake and early drum brake application for the front hubs, which they claim to have a .560 knurl size, but everyone says they need a little triming???

Check this out, if the front has a .563 knurl size, why do the moroso ones have to be trimed if they are only .560?? Also this link has some .563, which is suppose to be the exact size as 5 lug S14's, so in theory they should bolt in?

Anyone care to shed some light onto this?

why not just use some arp studs? I am pretty sure they sell them... check up on arp's website. they make just about every type of fastener...

They are avialible for the rear but not for the S14 5lug front hubs

S14 front wheel studs(According to Courtesy NIssan) 40mm long:

S14 Rear wheel studs (40mm long)

13x36t..........rear has a knurl size of .511????

I can shed a little light...

.563" is equal to 14.3mm.

.511" is equal to 13mm for the rear.

I'd bet the Moroso ones, at .560", will be fine for the front...and you can drill out the rears to match if you like, but's it's a PITA.

Maybe this will help:

S13 are 12x1.25. Stud shoulders (The part that fits with the wheel hub) are 13mm. For all 8 studs.

S14 (4 and 5 bolts) are 12x1.25. Stud shoulders are 14.3mm for the front and 13mm for the rear.

Make sure you get what you need. You'd be suprise by the number of "performance" store that don't even know this fact. They'll sell you 13mm for all studs.

What is the length of stock wheel studs on a 93? I am putting on 10mm spacers and want to know if I should get 50mm or 60m studs.

I recently purchased extended studs myself, and made the mistake of buying all one size knurl.

Found out the front on the S14 is 14mm knurl and the rear is 12.75mm knurl.

And for those that don't know what we're discussing here....a picture JK

I bought mine from the ichibausa.com website..and they fit fine.
Go with Ichiba or peak performance for studs.

Just in case somebody looks in here...

For reference S14 rear studs are the same for S13 front and rears. S14 fronts are different than the S14 rears.

GPRB25, if you have the ARP part numbers for the extended studs, please post it up. Should help people finding cheaper alternatives to Nismo studs...

Sorry man, I should have been more descriptive. ARP doesnt make wheel studs for the 240sx, let alone Nissan from what I know. 1st post edited.

I would honestly suggest using ichiba, peak performance or circuit sports.
Some people use the honda or camaro ARP studs that work ok, you just may have to grind down the knurl to make it fit.

The above mentioned companies make studs that fit our car, are cheaper than the nismo ones, and did the research for us. :rawk:

EDIT: Here is ARP's catalog to show what they do offer.

45MM (For 10MM/15MM Wheel Spacers / 12.75MM Knurl)

this is the size ichiba list. But if the correct size is 13mm these will be to small. What am I missing here?
