View Full Version : Any issue with recaro seats in s13,sittin to high?

Sat in a friends bride with modified rails off a sparco seat(Bad comparison,I know)but his seat was stupid high! My eyes were level with the top of the windshield an I am only 5"10.Are there issues of recaro seats sittin to high,or remotely close to this height? I am goin to be using all the proper brackets an rails also. :bite:

You need to custom fab your brackets... I have a recaro seat and had that problem. The only way around it is custom rails (search recaro rails on Zilvia for a how-to) or Bride i was told. I did the custom rail...

I will be using recaro sliders an wedge brackets,any diffrence? :confused:

if it's the usdm recaro sliders = 1" higher...

ok,well 1" isnt as high as I thought.Considering the seats sit alittle to low stock to me.Thanks for the reply~! :werd:

I'm around 5'9" and trust me, 1" is a lot. But install it and see for yourself. :)

What he said. I had a corbeau Cr-1 which sat a bit higher and it was enough that I couldn't fit in the car with a helmet on.

Now i've got a bride brix and the fit is absolutely perfect. sits lower than stock and is comfortable as hell.

My Recaro was sitting 1" too high and I could barely fit inside the car, with or without helmet... Now that the rails are customized and lowered 1", I fit perfectly in.

the wedge rails will raise the height. it will be really high if the seat is bottom mounted. with side mounted seat and no sliders it is not to bad. it seems like the seat that is in an s14 will have more head room in an s13.

i ordered a recaro speed the other day, should come in thursday, we will go about making custom brackets to get in the car, im 5'11" and i cant fit in mine with a helmet as it is now!! so mine will be some extreme custom:) damn sunroof
