It says Garrett on the exh housing but it has no tag on cartridge:/ what do u guys think its a A/r 70 M24. .82 exh it's not water cooled so dose that mean journal bearing? Would u run it? Got it off a friend for almost nothing he said he pay like 850 for it off of ebay like 6 years ago:/ the exhaust wheel has red blue n white paint on it. It looks nice

I wouldn't without a professional opinion. Take it to a turbo shop, or mail it, see what they say; plus get it balanced or rebuilt (if it's been used).

1. You didn't mention that it's "new or rebuilt"
2. Every Garrett I've ever seen has a tag on the chra.
3. If you don't use punctuation, people will hate you for the headache they get trying to read what the fuck you wrote.

Ok sorry not good at grammar. Its a new turbo or its rebuilt. Since it's not water cooled dose that mean its journal bearing? Also the turbo is single scroll but my manifold it twin scroll should I get a new exh housing? Or is it only going to spool like 500rpm faster? Would u run it?

Why not post pictures of it????? it will make everyone much easier to give you an opinion.

Is it for you to use it? If so what engine are you putting it on? what's the power plan?
Buying a twinscroll ex housing would be nice if you can afford but not necessary IMO.

You just might be better off with buying a new GTX series turbo for your specific needs, then you know it's good for sure.

Would I use the turbo you have? Probably not.

Too much things and money are involved to make the setup work. Get it done right first time. You won't regret it.

I tryed to post pics last night but could not get it to work, I'll try again in a few mins. I am all about doing things right the first time but I don't want to spend 1700 for a turbo if all I need is a twin scroll exh side, think they go for like $250. The turbo is for me its on a sr20, has hks 272 264 cams n springs, arp studs, apxi hg, full race manifold, Jun intake manifold,q45 tb, and power fc wanting to make 400-450whp. Oh and spec stage 2+ clutch

Why risk blowing up all that work to engine? Just take it somewhere and get it checked out.

Better safe than sorry (and stuck on the side of the road).

I would still buy a new one with size you need then sell this one.

I'll get some pics of the center section tonight, sorry that was all I had on my phone at the time. It has no tag that's the only reason I'm scared of running it. It will work perfect for the power that I want tho, why I would like to use it.

It has no tag on the center section, I was afraid it might be a knock off. That's why just wanted to see what other people thought if they would run it or not I don't wanted to come apart. Thanks for every ones input

I ran an ebay T70 turbo on my sr20det and it was fine. It lasted well over a year and half. When it started to go out, I took the turbo to an authorized Garret distributor and they measured everything and ordered me a turbo rebuild kit. I rebuilt the turbo myself and it ran great.
