Why are you deleting the VTC?

And sure you could just do that...

When I deleted VTC with S13 cams in my S14 engine I just used S13 gears. That was 8 years ago so my memory could be fuzzy.

If there is any kind of mechanical slop that seems dangerous to run the engine with, dont do it.

I'm deleting vtc because I'm now using an s13 block with an s14 head. Steve wouldn't that mess with timing because the dowel pin is in a different location? Maybe use an adjustable cam gear?

I dont think he knows, do you notice how vague the answer is? It doesnt say anything at all but pretends to know something we don't know (but he is unwilling to divulge)

It wont matter where the dowel is because you will set the cam lobes facing outwards with the right number of links between gears with piston #1 TDC.
Don't look at dots or dowels if it bothers you.

The can dowel and timing mark are in the same location. S13 cam gear is fine, just as Steve suggested.
