So, i decided to up my boost the other day (from 7 to 12) (s13 sr completely stock) and since everyone wants colder or suggests colder plugs i said why not, i went ahead and swapped out my step 6 for step 7. Same exact 0.031-0.032 gap. Anyways the thing i dont like about this spark plug is that my idle went from regular 14.7 to 13.8-14.3 sp its richer, all acorss the rpms its alot richer it even hit 10.9 at wot when it use to be about 11.5. Also, when the motor is cold it idles high for longer durations and is slow/hesistant because it runs richer till it warms up. The hotter stage 6 plugs ran the car rich on cold startup but it wasnt so agressively roch were its annoying. Just want some input if it is safe to go bak to the oem step 6 plugs at 12 psi and what gapping do you all suggest?

bc.

I just switched to 7's as well and noticed I was running richer, but I think that is due to some fuel issues I am having as well.

You'll definitely be fine with Grade 6 plugs. Stock boost on an SR is at least 10psi.

Im going to be putting in the step 6 back im sure it will
Make more power/fuel efficiency as well. I hate waiting to warm up the motor nust to drive it

I cant see how spark plugs would do that. What you describe looks more like you got a vacuum/boost leak.

So let get this right, the colder spark plugs made your combustion process cooler, so it takes longer to warm up?:rimshot:

I pulled out the plugs and they were all gapped at like 20 (wtf??) regapped them to 35 and perfect
