Cleaning Piston Head & Rings

I just started the rebuild process on my RB25DET, and wanted to know whats the best way to clean the piston head and piston rings?

Detergent. Why clean the rings? You should be installing new.

Yeah dont reuse rings and make sure to have the cylinders honed and break it in right once its built. Have fun! :)

I really dont wanna reuse them but im kinda left no choice as of now. im moving out to FL and i need to get this in the car. I still ordered rings but there on BO.. Can i soak in brakekleen?

Youre going to have to pull the engine back apart once you realize how much oil your burning. And all the costs that go with it, head gasket, time, etc.

Find another distributor and buy from them if they can get them immediately. I'm assuming you're using OEM rings.

Yeah I'm using OEM rings.. Does anyone know if I could use z32 rings?
