I've got a Silvia front end (if that matters).

What is the best way of going about doing this? I was going to go with hood spacers by Powered By Max but I'm not sure they'll clear. Otherwise, I was thinking of cutting a hole in the hood and putting on some vents like this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/DMAX-TYPE-1-STYLE-UNIVERSAL-HOOD-VENT-SCOOP-FOR-SKYLINE-R32-R33-R34-SILVIA-S13-/251263096560?pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item3a807296f0&vxp=mtr) but I don't know if that will clear either!

Anyone have some input on this other than just cutting a hole in the hood and letting the manifold stick out?

i cut a scoop out of the stock hood, and then welded the rear to lift the back portion of the cut out. folded down the sides, and welded that down, then just fiberglassed in the gaps.. turned out ok, definitely not pro quality, but a little more bondo to smooth out the lines a bit, and it will look better..

best thing, is it fits like a stock hood. not a 3" gap in the rear lines of the hood. Last thing i wanted was to have a setup that looked like this.. http://www.driftsession.com/drifting_gallery/2002_drifting_pictures/drift_session_year_02/jeroninline.jpg

as an easier alternative, you can always just get a hood scoop from jegs / summit, just make sure that the scoop is wide enough for the intake manifold, and the intake tube (depending on the make of your intake)

I have a carbon fiber hood at the moment, and it is pretty thin. I might not have to go up too far.
