Do I really need my O2 sensor in my SR? Does it affect anything like gas milage? I'm asking because I was thinking of using the bung for my EGT gauge probe. I haven't had an O2 sensor in there for a few weeks anyways, I dunno if my gas milage is great or not, I haven't really paid that much attention, but it seems kinda normal. Maybe around 18-20 MPG.

yeah definitley, the o2 sensor measures the air fuel ratio that gets sent to the computer which in turn adjusts mixtures to suit

Can you tell me why I get no ECU error code for not having one?

im not sure if this is true but i was told that when the o2 sensor is unpluged and the ecu is not sensing anything it just goes into some kind of base mode or something. Kinda like when yoiu are running closed loop when you first start up the car.
